Nice cover.
I think shrimp are gross too. (Yikes!)
Who made the image (because the ‘nice’ part of this comment was serious).

I took a public domain shot of a crustacean, a photo my sister took of a foggy winter road, and a mottled orange texture (released free on Flickr) and overlaid them. Almost like real art!

It turned out good. You should be happy.

Very nice cover art — I’m glad to see from the comments that shrimp unsettle other people. Funny how we are so eager to eat these arthropods but disdain insects. The orange unsettles me, too. Never was terribly found of this color. Always struck me as indicative of disease, well, in anything but fruits. Plus shrimp are obviously related to the Fungi from Yuggoth.

Anne: I’ve been amused/horrified by that tension between crustaceans and insects, too. I could never achieve that happy chasm between delicious and icky. Whenever I see someone eating lobster I always want to yell “There’s a huge BUG on your plate!!”

I feel compelled to point out that I harbor no ill will toward crustaceans; I love both lobster and shrimp.
